Does Dr. Notes work without internet?
Yes. Dr. Notes functions smoothly even in low or no network areas — all features work offline. Network access is only used for things you explicitly choose, such as an iCloud backup or sharing an exported document.
Where is my patient data stored?
By default, all information is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud backup, your data may be stored in your private iCloud account for backup and restoration — we do not have access to it. See the Privacy Policy.
Are voice notes sent to the cloud for transcription?
No. Voice notes are transcribed on the device using a local speech model bundled with the app. Audio is not uploaded to a transcription API.
Is Dr. Notes HIPAA compliant?
Dr. Notes is designed to support HIPAA-aligned workflows: on-device storage, audit logs, encrypted backups and on-device transcription. Compliance also depends on how your practice secures its devices and processes. The HIPAA page explains each control in detail.
